Formosa Plastics Group was established in 1954. After sixty years’ expanding and growth, Formosa Plastics Group evolved into a big corporate with four major business unites, which include, Formosa Plastics Corporation, Nan Ya Plastics Corporation, Formosa Chemicals And Fiber Corporation, Formosa Petrochemical Corporation. Our business spans across different fields of expertise, which include Plastics, Petrochemical, semiconductor, electronics, biotech …….and so on.

Our SAP production initiated in 1993, with brand name as Taisap, in our Sing Kang plant. Now, we are one of the major SAP manufacturers in the world, with three factories in different locations in Asia. They are: Sing Kang plant, Mai Liao plant and NingBo plant. SAP capacity totals 200,000 ton per year. We are a SAP producer of rigorous R&D dynamics. We currently own 101 patents about SAP and still is seeking the next generation’s SAP which can improve the quality of life, or provide better solutions in the area of super absorbent polymer.

In 2018, Formosa Plastics Group, ahead of all our peer in Petrochemical business, starts Artificial Intelligence project, and set up AI Center to better involve this concept with our daily production. The goal of this effort is to optimize the performance in our production as well as product quality.
